Update ~ Clinical support for HSE appeal
Friday the 8th of June – Dr Hutchinson of St James’s confirmed that she has notified the HSE that Dr Morgan of the National Rehabilitation Hospital is willing to provide clinical support for Robert’s move to Oxford. It’s in the HSE’s hands now: apparently they will contact Dr Morgan and solicit her opinion. Then they should contact me within ten days (or however long it takes them to form an opinion – they’ve left that open-ended) with their decision. It’s a bit round-about but we’ll get there in the end.
Monday the 28th of May – myself and Ritamary, Eamonn and Jason met with Dr Siobhan Hutchinson of St James’s, Dr Jacinta Morgan, Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine and Jane Culligan of the NRH along with Bernie and Sorcha, CNM’s at St James’s.
Dr Morgan has agreed to support our appeal to the HSE on the grounds that Robert will benefit from early intervention which, coupled with Dr Hutchinson’s appeal letter to the HSE, should very much help to convince them that Robert deserves the very best chance to fulfil his potential, whatever it may be.
