A Good Start to the Week
Got a letter dated 4th July 2012 from Dr Morgan in the NRH today saying that she has ‘sent all the required information’ on Robert to the relevant person in the HSE who is dealing with the application.
Dr Morgan also says they are ‘continuing to correspond’ about specific points on which further clarification is requested.
And in other news… Robert’s carer today, our friend Alan, startled me in the most wonderful way when he said that this morning Robert had shook his head in response to the nurse asking him if he’d straighten out his arms: Alan is convinced that Robert replied in the negative, a very definite side-to-side-to-side movement.
While I’m not counting any chickens, I’m thrilled, Ritamary’s gobsmacked and Jason thinks it’s a big step.
Robert has been wearing a speaking valve (SV) over the last few days and is tolerating it very well indeed, his oxygen levels are staying steady and his heart rate settles down quite quickly after it’s attached. He can’t wear it all the time but this is a wonderful stop forward also.
